Developed a web-based augmented reality racing game as part of an innovative breakfast cereal promotional campaign. The experience was designed to be both accessible and interactive, using a physical AR steering wheel and red/green 3D glasses included inside cereal boxes.
Key Features & Technical Highlights: Hybrid Unity & Flash Architecture Delivered core gameplay through Unity, while leveraging Flash to enable webcam access and QR marker detection — a feature not yet available in Unity at the time.
Augmented Reality Steering Players held up a physical paper wheel printed with an AR marker. Flash tracked the marker and passed steering input to the Unity game, creating a uniquely tactile AR experience directly in the browser.
Anaglyph 3D Shader Integration Developed custom shaders to support anaglyph stereoscopic rendering (red/green 3D), allowing players to experience true depth when wearing included glasses.
Mass Distribution Engagement This project reached a wide audience via physical distribution in cereal boxes, demonstrating both technical creativity and real-world scale in promotional game development.
