Developed as part of Disney’s global campaign for the animated film Tangled, Maximus on the Chase is a fast-paced, side-scrolling Flash game that puts players in the horseshoes of Maximus as he races through villages and forests in pursuit of Flynn Rider.
Gameplay & Design
High-Speed Platforming: Players galloped, jumped, and dodged through vibrant environments inspired by scenes from the film.
Environmental Interaction: Dynamic obstacles, multi-layered parallax backgrounds, and item pickups kept the pace exciting and engaging.
Built for the Web: Optimized for Flash performance across browsers, delivering smooth gameplay and responsive controls for a wide kid-friendly audience.
My Role
Engineered the core gameplay systems including movement, collisions, and interactive set pieces.
Collaborated closely with artists and animators to preserve the film’s rich visual tone and character charm.
Tuned difficulty and pacing for maximum accessibility and fun for younger players.
The result was a polished, brand-faithful digital experience that helped bring the energy of Tangled to browsers around the world.
