VU.CITY is a 3D interactive city modeling platform primarily used for urban planning, architecture, and property development. It’s designed to help professionals visualize, assess, and communicate development proposals within highly accurate digital twins of real-world cities.
I was initially brought onto the VU.CITY team to integrate my procedural building generation technology into their interactive 3D city modeling platform.
This laid the foundation for a series of advanced systems I developed over several years, each aimed at improving urban planning workflows at scale:
Window Generation & Daylight Analysis
Led a 5-month R&D project to algorithmically generate accurate window position data on arbitrary 3D building models with flat facades. This enabled large-scale daylight analysis to be performed automatically across hundreds of buildings.
Procedural Room Generation
Built a follow-up system that generated internal room geometries based on external window layouts, supporting more granular daylight and livability studies.
Site Capacity Estimation Tool
Designed and led development of an award-winning tool that helped planners assess the residential capacity and economic potential of proposed sites. It supported configurable unit size distributions, building height, and density constraints.
This tool won multiple awards Digital Transformation Project Award — UK PropTech Association Award for Use of Digital Technology in Planning — UK Planning Awards 2022

Next-Generation Building Generator
Rejoined the core VU.CITY development team to lead the redevelopment of the original procedural building tool. This version integrated years of user feedback, collaborated closely with product and UX teams, and introduced a more robust and scalable solution for interactive city modeling.
